2020 Year in Review

Dear Friends and Supporters,

It probably doesn’t even need to be stated that 2020 was a difficult year. Here at NCFA, we struggled with financial uncertainty as we suspended field canvass due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, you—our compassionate supporters—overwhelmed us with your generosity and made sure we pulled through. We also secured significant grant funding that allowed us to expand our foodshare and garden programs. All in all, we feel that it was an incredible year at NCFA! Thank you so much for making it possible.

In Solidarity for a Better World,

Haakon, Annelise, Mae, Will, Sasha, Alison, Catherine, Mark, Nick, Celeste, Maria, Fatuma

We at NCFA must therefore yet again extend our deepest sympathies to Breonna Taylor’s loved ones, and reaffirm our solidarity with the BLM movement to honor, defend, and respect Black lives.

Today marks three months since the tragic murder of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police. We at North Country Food Alliance (NCFA) are inspired by the worldwide action that emerged in support of the movement to defend Black lives during this time. However, in the wake of yet another shooting of an unarmed Black man, we must recognize that as allies we have much yet to accomplish. We extend our deepest sympathies to Mr. Blake and his loved ones, and express outrage at the white supremacist system that devalues the lives of BlPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) people.
